Feb 19th Pianos NYC Show

I want to invite you to my next performance on Tuesday, Feb. 19th at Pianos in NYC. Doors are at 7pm, we go on at 11pm as part of the Salt Cathedral (il Abanico) residency. I hand picked all the performers on the bill. Expect a night of beautiful music performed by people who inspire me.

I’ve also recently gone back in the studio to record new material. It’s been my dream to bring woodwinds and horns into teletextile, and I finally got them together for the recording. We’ve got 5 tracks recorded so far and hoping to get at least a handful more. We’ll be performing 3 new songs, which I have never played live before in completeness and may not really get to recreate live again.

Tuesday’s 7 person tour de force includes former Teletextile collaborator Tim Cronin (Freelance Whales, Camera Obscura, The Antlers, Efterklang).  It’s a very special show for me and it may be the only time I get to perform this way all year.

Show Tomorrow Sun 12/9

Hey Everyone,

It's our last show of the year tomorrow.  Sunday Dec 9  Cameo Gallery Doors: 7:30pm // Show: 8:00pm // Tix: $8.00

I've been working on new material for the next album and I'm previewing one song tonight "Home"  For the next record I've been working a lot with woodwinds so I'll have 3 guests tonight all great musians, Heidi Harris (clarinet), Deb Douglas (bass clarinet), and teletextile's current guitarist Annie Levy (who also is a bad-ass flute player – well can plan almost any istrument.)  FACEBOOK EVENT  Keep an eye out on the teletextile facebook and soundcloud for previews of the new material.

Also last weekend I was invovled in the Brooklyn Rock Lottery with members of My Morning Jacket, VHS or Beta, Against Me! / Hold Steady, Hospitality, Nicholas Jaar Live Band / DARKSIDE, Blonde Redhead / The Silent Years. YUCK, Javelin, Gang Signs, M83, Callers, Sunny Day in Glasgow / People Get Ready, Beans, The Subjects, Hooray For Earth, YVETTE, Ra Ra Riot, Gold Lake, Bezoar.

The Rock Lottery premise is simple, but effective. Twenty-five hand picked musicians meet at 10:00AM at the then organized into five groups through a lottery-based chance selection. The five separate groups are then released to practice at different locations. The musicians have twelve hours to create a band name and music to be performed that night.

Tues Nov 20 – Union Pool

Union Pool Flyer

I’m excited to play a show with Monica Lionheart. Someone who I’ve shared my music and heart with since I was 16 years old.

Plus here is what Time Out New York has to say about the show.

Built around on the gilded, girlish vocals and multi-instrumental talents of Pamela Martinez, Teletextile incorporates harp and violin to create shimmering and dramatic alt-pop soundscapes. Arrive promptly to catch support act Lionheart who layers her frosty voice over wafty electronica and strings in a manner that suggests dry ice—and lots of it—plus Sigur Rós, and early Cure records interpreted by a tropicalia singer.

This Sat I’m playing a set of all new unrecorded material.  It’s short set only 30mins, but it’s the first step in the direction for new recordings.  I’m set on making in the next few months. It’s exciting and makes me nervous.

8pm show  3 solo acts Tea Leigh and Heidi Harris amazing on their own, but we are collaborating on 6 songs through out the night.  The first song of the set and the last so come for the full 2 hours.

My new material will be played at 9pm. I hope you can come.
